At The Residence Inn Amelia Island we pride ourselves on, not only being pet-friendly, but embracing your furry family members as our own!

Pet friendly hotel on Amelia Island

Dogs love Amelia Island and The Residence Inn! With so many things to do on the island with your pooch, your furry friend is sure to have a tail waggin’ good time!

DOGS ON THE BEACH- Dogs are allowed on Nassau County’s Atlantic coast beaches, but must be on a leash at all times. Pet owners are responsible for immediate clean up. Fernandina’s Main Beach Park has a doggie bag dispenser near the public restrooms (but bring your own because they can run out). Pet owners not following rules can be ticketed. Dogs are NOT ALLOWED on the beachfront in state parks (Fort Clinch and Amelia Island State Park).

There are several restaurants in Fernandina Beach Florida that are dog-friendly. Most notably is Cafe Karibo with its spacious outdoor patio area and scrumptious food! If you’re pooch needs some pampering, check out Scally-Wags Pet Grooming or Hot Paws. For delectable homemade dog treats, venture out to Redbones Dog Bakery where your pooch will enjoy treats like Pumpkin Pie Cookies or Peanut Butter Yogurt Treats.

Of course, if your dog needs to burn off some energy, check out the Nassau Humane Society Dog Park. This park has separate spaces for large and small dogs so that everyone is playing with their own size friends. Both areas have a pool and a pond with dog toys and chairs for their humans.

Once everyone is done playing, our Fernandina Beach Florida Hotel conveniently has a water hose outside the hotel in the back of our parking lot (near Egans Creek Greenway entry) that we invite you to use to rinse off your dog after a beach/nature walk if you wish! See you soon!
