Residence Inn Amelia Island is proud to be participating for a second year in Relay For Life, an annual event that raises money for the American Cancer Society. The team set a fund-raising goal of $1500 and have already reached $1250. The money has been raised several ways through special employee events including a Committee sponsored Pasta Night that was held September 18th on property.  A delicious spread was prepared of spaghetti with homemade marinara and meat sauce, chilled pasta salad with fresh veggies, fresh house salad, and garlic bread. All of the employees and guests were invited to support the event by donating $10 for an all-you-can-eat dinner, including libations!  The event was very successful and raised nearly $400 in just one hour. The highlight of the evening was the presence of the guest of honor, Cheyenne. Cheyenne is a brave little girl currently undergoing Leukemia treatment. Her attendance at this event brought the cause very close to the hearts of everyone, and helped to emphasize the importance of raising funds to fight cancer and the reality of the struggle of people suffering from it. Thank you to everyone who participated, and don’t forget the Relay For Life event coming up in November, you do not want to miss it!
