First weekend in June is a busy one! It kicks off the summer with school officially out and the kids ready for vacation days. Around here we have something for everyone and all ages.

Here at Residence Inn we will be hosting wine tastings with light hors d’oeuvres Monday through Friday and each weekend will host ice cream socials on the terrace.


Sounds on Centre – Downtown Centre Street

Pride Festival – Central Park
June 8, 2019 – 10:00am-6:30pm
10:00 am- Parade; 11:00am Festival Begins
The parade route begins at Central Park and travels west down Ash Street to 2nd Street, turns north to Centre Street, turns east down Centre Street and ends back at Central Park.
The festival will include speakers, music, informational booths, food trucks, children’s activities (face painting) and an opportunity for individuals and families to picnic, enjoy the festivities, and celebrate gay pride at an open and welcoming event.

Cannons on the Plaza - Fernandina Plaza Historic State Park (Old Town)

Volunteers and staff will interpret the various periods of Fernandina Plaza Historic State Park to include:
1740 Spanish Soldier
1778 American Continental Soldier and British Soldier
1817 Patriot Soldier
1835 American Soldier
1861 Southern Soldier
1864 Federal Soldier
African American ladies and soldiers will also be present.
Fife and drum to provide music
Cavalry detachment
CSO and Other displays to include archaeology information, Talbot, Anastasia/Fort Mose, NPS(Kingsley/Castillo), the Amelia Island Museum of History, The City of Fernandina Beach, and the Fernandina Genealogy Society.
